THE CHALLENGE

Vodafone Business asked ID2 to support the creation of their first 30” TV commercial to promote their new offering, Vodafone Pulse Connect. Aimed at the SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) market, the advert needed to convey its benefits in a relatable way, combining broadband, mobile and office 365 into one package. In addition, photography and additional edits were required to promote the package across multiple social channels.

THE CREATION

The team at ID2 took control of the end-to-end creation of the TVC, taking an outline narrative and using it as a basis to develop a complete shot-by-shot storyboard, enhancing the script and planning all supporting social assets.

The time frame was tight with only a few weeks turn around making good planning key. ID2 took responsibility for all casting, styling, and location sourcing for the two-day shoot ensuring the project could be delivered on time. Specific attention was also made regarding the design of each location ensuring that they complemented Vodafone’s “red world” concept.

Filming was completed over 3 locations across London, with a crew of 20 and featured a main actor and 6 background/supporting actors. All post-production was completed in-house at ID2 including offline, online and colour grade with final audio being supported by Wave Studios.

The final production was completed within 6 weeks of being commissioned.

THE OUTCOME

Initially aired in September 2022 for a 4-week run, the commercial was re-run 4 months later. Throughout this period the campaign was supported by additional assets posted on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook each focusing on the key message of “flexibility”.

The client has since fed back on the campaign about the great engagement across social channels and Head of Marketing, Katie Williams was quick to praise the ID2 team “to say a big THANK YOU for your support with the Vodafone Pulse Connect TVC… Your professionalism, passion and attention to detail throughout the project exceeded my expectations…”
